Gratomic Inc. (TSX-V:GRAT, OTCQX:CBULF) said on Thursday that chief operating officer Manie Silver has been appointed chief executive officer, as part of a broader leadership shake-up at the Canadian graphite development company.

The company also named Arno Brand as executive chair and interim chief financial officer, following the resignation of Daniel Baard from both roles.

Brand, who had previously served as CEO, said Silver’s location in South Africa positions him well to oversee operations at Gratomic’s Aukam graphite project. “As a resident of South Africa, Manie is in the best position to manage the operation of the company as a result of his proximity to the Aukam graphite project,” Brand said.

Gratomic added that Brand has agreed to forgo his executive compensation retroactive to April 2024.

Gratomic Inc. (TSX-V:GRAT, OTCQX:CBULF) said it is pursuing legal action in Brazil and Canada to reclaim its Capim Grosso property in Brazil, alleging that its former Chief Operating Officer, Armando Farhate, wrongfully transferred key claims to Bahia Graphite Corporation, where he now serves as CEO.

The company said it let certain claims within the Capim Grosso property expire to prioritize its Aukam property in Namibia, citing high exploration costs in Brazil. However, Gratomic alleges Farhate improperly transferred the remaining claims, where significant investments had been made, to Bahia Graphite’s subsidiary, Bahia Brazil, without authorization.
