Ilika CEO says Goliath D5 testing confirms superior safety characteristics

Ilika PLC (AIM:IKA, OTCQX:ILIKF) CEO Graeme Purdy speaks with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion after latest testing of the company's Goliath D5 prototype batteries further confirmed their safety characteristics.

Purdy discussed the importance of proving Ilika's battery safety compared to lithium-ion equivalents,, also highlighting how the lighter design could lower costs and improve vehicle range. The company has demonstrated safety through rigorous testing, including the nail penetration test, which showed Ilika’s batteries outperforming traditional lithium-ion cells in fire safety.

Looking ahead, the CEO teased the D6 milestone, set for November, where the company will demonstrate larger format cells with a capacity of 10Ah—closer to what is needed for the automotive sector. This milestone is part of Ilika’s journey to addressing key EV market concerns, such as range anxiety and cost.
