Ideal Power Secures Multi-Unit Order for SymCool® IQ, Highlighting Expanded Market Opportunities

Ideal Power CEO Daniel Brdar joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share a significant milestone for the company with the receipt of a multi-unit order for its SymCool® IQ intelligent power module. The order comes from a customer specializing in circuit protection and power conversion solutions, demonstrating growing interest in Ideal Power’s innovative B-TRAN® technology.
The SymCool® IQ module builds on the bidirectional BTRAN® multi-die packaging of the SymCool® power module, incorporating an integrated intelligent driver optimized for bidirectional operation. Rated at 1200V and 200A, the module offers advantages over IGBT technology, including lower energy losses and inherent bidirectionality.
Brdar noted that this customer had previously ordered SymCool® power modules and drivers, reflecting ongoing interest in using the technology across product lines targeting key markets such as electric vehicles, EV charging, renewable energy, and data centers. Ideal Power sees its B-TRAN® and SymCool® IQ modules as catalysts for entering additional markets, including renewable energy integration and energy storage.
The customer is currently evaluating SymCool® IQ for pairing renewable energy systems with energy storage solutions, leveraging its bidirectional efficiency to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness. This order underscores the potential for Ideal Power’s technology to revolutionize power conversion and protection across a wide array of industries.
