Black Swan Graphene (TSX-V:SWAN) Inc has announced the results of the scoping study for its large-scale Québec facility, providing an initial evaluation including processing plant specifications as well as conceptual mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical designs, for its proposed 40,000 square-foot first large-scale production facility, based on the same processing technology currently being used in the facility located in the UK.

The graphene products producer said highlights of the study include a pre-tax net present value (NPV), using a 7% discount rate, of C$1.01 billion, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 54%, a payback period of 3.8 years, average annual production of 8,200 tonnes, and total pre-production CAPEX of C$44.8 million.

"We are incredibly pleased with the outstanding outcomes of the Scoping Study, marking a significant milestone towards establishing Black Swan as a global leader in graphene production," Black Swan Graphene (TSX-V:SWAN) CEO Simon Marcotte said in a statement.

"These results provide the bedrock to effectively construct and operate the project, and we hold firm confidence in their feasibility and attainability from both operational and commercial perspectives," he added.

Black Swan also noted that the scoping study estimates annual revenue of C$167.5 million at maximal production rate, as well as maximal projected production of 9,868 tonnes per annum.

Black Swan Graphene is focused on the large-scale production and commercialization of patented high-performance and low-cost graphene products aimed at several industrial sectors, including concrete, polymers, lithium-ion batteries, and others, which are expected to require large volumes of graphene.
